Amnesty for vote cheats
PEOPLE who defrauded the election registration process by registering more than once have until tomorrow to surrender themselves to the commission to earn amnesty.
If they do not, they face arrest.
Chairman of the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) Chief Gija says the culprits would be exposed by the computer system.
registration
“The EBC, having warned voters over the media against double registration, wishes to extend a grace period to all concerned to avail themselves and surrender any additional registration card before Thursday, July 3, 2008.
“A person was only allowed to register once. Any extra card should be surrendered before Thursday (tomorrow) to the EBC office in Nkhanini or call the office at 4162504 for an arrangement to surrender any additional card.”
resolved
Chief Gija says some voters who registered more than once have already availed themselves and their matter was resolved without the involvement of police.
“Once all the registration data is loaded on the EBC computer for scanning, the law will be allowed to run its cause on any person who would have not surrendered their additional card by tomorrow.”
