Hlobi grooves into next stage

PIGG’S PEAK – Hlobsile Ndlovu, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Youth Affairs made a groovy entry into the secondary elections yesterday.


Immediately the voting outcome was announced the deputy minister, together with her supporters in a convoy of cars, visited three locations in celebrating her victory.


The overjoyed deputy minister who was on board her BMW X3 written ‘Ujehova Ungumelusi’, later staged a celebration party in town here.


At least more than 800 supporters attended the celebration within town.


At first, the celebration took place at the Plaza near Score Supermarket.


When interviewed, Ndlovu said primary elections were really tough but she based her hope in the almighty.


"I am excited about the outcome and I believe people here have faith in me.

"It’s their decision and mine is to work for them," said the deputy minister.


Ndlovu got 642 votes beating the mayor here Reggie Lukhele who got 364 votes.


Mandla Dlamini came second with 380 votes while Dumsile Ndlovu, Hlobsile’s sister-in-law, snatched 111 votes.


The counting exercise was held at the Pigg’s Peak Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
